SARAH C PRINZ is a LA-based Director and Choreographer. Her powerful, movement-driven imagery creates a seamless gradient between pedestrian and highly choreographic compositions. Her luring, quietly masterful filmmaking challenges notions of narrative form using the body as a storytelling vehicle. Sarah’s works have been premiered through i-D, Sterogum, Channel 4 (UK), Outfest, Dance Camera West and Screendance International.
With extensive professional dance training and performance career with Szalt Dance Company making work on the female experience, her works reflect her embodied understanding of classical and contemporary movement techniques.
Sarah founded In/Motion Chicago’s International Dance Film Festival creating a platform for other award-winning artists and social justice advocates including Celia Rowlson-Hall, Bobbi Jene Smith and Deana Haggag.
Sarah also Movement Directs live performances including collaborations with Miya Folick (Terrible Records), Rachel Comey, Girlschool LA, FORM Festival 2018, Lauren Ruth Ward, Drum and Lace, and The Ho Chi Minh Symphony Orchestra and Choir.
Her films and live performance pieces have been presented in Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Detroit, Austin, San Fransisco, Iowa City, Utah, Arizona, Mexico City, Paris, Spain, Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
